Back to the Future is a motion based simulator ride that gives guests an opportunity to take a trip through time. 

Many park visitors consider the 4 ½ minute Back to the Future ride to be the best park ride in all of Orlando.  In order to enjoy the ride, visitors must first make their way to the Institute of Future Technology.  This building can be found in the back of the World Expo section of the park. 

Once in the Institute of Future Technology, guests will get to watch Doc Brown on video screens as he conducts additional time travel experiments.  Here, guests learn that they are volunteers and will be helping to test Doc’s new DeLorean by going into the future one day ahead of present day.  The Delorean, which is capable of holding eight passengers, is thought to be the future of time travel technology.

As guests wait to board the DeLorean, they also learn that Biff Tannen is hiding out somewhere in 1955 and is on the loose.  Guests also learn that Biff has tied up the attendants and has taken the keys to one of the DeLorean’s that are to be tested.  Once Doc learns of this fact, he becomes quite upset and changes the mission.  Now, guests are to help Doc chase down Biff with the help of the Sub Ethernet Track System.  Mor importantly, they are to set the wheels into motion that will send Biff back to present time.

After boarding the DeLorean, guests race through a variety of settings, including the futuristic streets of Hill Valley and the ice caves of the past.  Guests even have a hair-raising experience involving passing through the mouth of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Guests must be 40 inches or taller in order to ride Back to the Future.  In addition, those that are pregnant or that have heart or back troubles are advised not to ride.  The ride is accessible to handicapped individuals, though they must be able to transfer from their wheelchair to the ride.  This ride is quite popular.  Therefore, it is best to take advantage of the Universal Express pass that is available.
