About Seaworld

SeaWorld is a “marine adventure park” that covers 200 acres.  Within this large plot of land, visitors can enjoy exciting rides, amazing shows, and encounters with real life marine animals.  These animals include dolphins, killer whales, stingrays, sea lions, and more – all of which are waiting to put on another great show for park guests.

Located only 15 minutes from Orlando International Airport on Interstate 4 and FL 528, SeaWorld is an easy attraction to find.  With so many incredible things to see and to do, it is easy to understand why the park enjoys more than 80 million visitors every year – even if Disney and Universal are the parks that receive most of the Orlando attention.   SeaWorld is truly a jewel that is not to be missed.

Although SeaWorld is considered to be mainly an educational park, it is accomplished in such a way that guests have fun and are amazed with every twist and turn.  In addition, it can be enjoyed at a far more relaxed pace than the other thrill parks found in Orlando.  Even during the peak season, all of the sites can be taken in at a relaxed pace without fear of “missing out” on certain aspects of the park before it closes.  Nonetheless, many visitors enjoy taking two days to visit the park – using one day to take in the shows and following it up the next day to enjoy the rides and multiple exhibits.

SeaWorld is open throughout they year and opens at 9:00 a.m. each day.  During the summer and on special holidays, park guests can also take advantage of special extended hours.  In order to get prime parking, it is best to arrive about 30 minutes before the park opens.  This also makes getting into the park for the day much easier as the lines tend to get longer as the day goes on at both the ticket booths and the security stations.  For guests that are not carrying bags, the security station can be bypassed and the park can be entered directly.

Once inside the park, guests can visit the information desk.  Here, they can pick up a color map of the park as well as a schedule of the shows.  Guests can also make dining reservations at the information desk or book one of the extra tours that may be available.

The services at SeaWorld run the gamut, making it possible for nearly anyone to enjoy an entire day at the park.  Here, guests can find lockers, wheelchairs, and strollers for rent.  There are even climate-controlled pet kennels available that will keep animals safe and comfortable as their human companions enjoy a day in the park.

All facilities at the park include wheelchair seating and there are several designated baby-nursing and diaper-changing areas throughout the park.  First-aid stations, 24-hour ATMs, and foreign exchange booths are also available.  In addition, bus and taxi parking are both available on site.

For park guests looking to grab a bite to eat during their stay, there are nine different restaurants located in the park.  These restaurants range from sit-down, full service restaurants where families can sit and relax to cafeteria –style eateries that allow for a less expensive meal.  One popular dining choice is the Aloha Polynesian Luau Dinner and Show, which offers traditional food, music, dance, and songs from the Hawaiian islands.  Due to the show’s popularity, reservations are required to attend.

It is important to keep in mind that there are several “soak zones” throughout the park.  These are primarily found at the shows.  Guests sitting in these areas are sure to get wet during the performance.  The water is saltwater, which can be particularly damaging to cameras.  Therefore, guests must take special care to keep their equipment from getting wet.
