Liberty Square

Liberty Square is located across the bridge from the Cinderella Castle, right between Fantasyland and Frontierland.  In this theme park, which is designed to replicate 1776 Americana, guests can enjoy a look at American history.  The sounds of paddleboats and the blaring horn of the Liberty Belle Riverboat often greet guests at the entrance.  The Hall of Presidents, the replica of the Liberty Bell, and the Liberty Tree all add a taste of history to Liberty Square. 

The architecture in Liberty Square is comprised of old brick or clapboard buildings with wavy glass pane windows and weathervanes.  Attractive gardens filled with colorful Japanese yew and azaleas add to the charm.  The Haunted Mansion, a Liberty Square favorite, is easily located by following the sound of the howling wolves. 

The Liberty Tree Tavern offers scrumptious colonial dining experience.  At lunchtime, the Tavern is served ala carte.  At dinnertime, however, it becomes a “family serve” meal, complete with honey mustard ham and roast turkey.  Characters such as Pluto, Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale all dress in colonial style outfits and join in the meal. 

The Columbia Harbor House and the Sleepy Hallow are other dining choices.  These restaurants offer counter service and provide dishes such as fish & chips, chicken fingers, clam chowder, and vegetarian chili.  A potato wagon serving baked potatoes with a wide variety of toppings is also available.  The Liberty Tree Tavern also offers a la carte lunches, including soups, entrees, and sandwiches.

Antique shopping opportunities await guests of Liberty Square.  Tea sets, historical treasures, kitchenware and silverware are also available for purchase in stores such as The Yankee Trader, Heritage House, Olde World Antiques, Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, and the Silversmith Shop.  In addition, the Liberty Square Portrait Gallery is filled with artists who are waiting to create a personalized picture commemorating your vacation experience.
