Frontierland
The strumming sounds of banjo music, coupled with the scent of smoked turkey legs are telltale signs that Frontierland is nearby. This old-time Wild West theme park brings the American pioneer era to life with a multitude of attractions. To further bring it to life, cast members are dressed in denim and gingham as they inhabit the clapboard buildings. Evergreens, mesquite trees, slack pines, century plants, and fragrant Jerusalem thorns add extra beauty to this interesting and fun theme park.
Among the attractions is Tom Sawyer’s Island, which can be reached by crossing the Rivers of America. An air-conditioned theater also offers a good ‘ole fashioned hoe-down with the Country Bear Jamboree.
In addition, Frontierland offers wonderful dining opportunities, including the Pecos Bill Café, which offers tables both indoors and out. Here, guests can enjoy hot dogs, chicken, hamburgers, and salad. An outdoor wagon also offers jumbo smoked turkey legs. On Tom Sawyer’s Island, Aunt Polly’s Dockside Inn provides picnic style meals.
Interesting souvenirs can also be purchased from the many themed stores found in Frontierland, such as Trail Creek Hat Shop, Frontier Trading Post, Briar Patch, Priarie Outpost and Supply, Big Al’s, and Frontier Wood Carving. Cowboy and Native American toys, as well as turquoise jewelry, woodcarvings, and leather goods are popular items.
