Ariel’s Grotto

Ariel’s Grotto can be discovered behind the Dumbo the Flying Elephant attraction in Fantasyland’s lagoon.  This spot provides Little Mermaid fans with a sneak peek into the home of Ariel.  Decorated with coral, starfish, and waterfalls, fans of the Little Mermaid will enjoy the ambience and the opportunity to meet Ariel and receive her autograph while visiting the Grotto.  She can be found sitting in a chair draped with seaweed, since she has difficulty walking on land.  She generally arrives at the grotto at about 10:00 am and stays there until the park closes.  Lines can be quite long, however, so it is best to try to meet Ariel during parade times or late in the day when lines tend to be shorter.

Kids enjoy Ariel’s Grotto because they get to cool off in the water.  The area also provides a covered spot for adults to relax and get out of the sun.  The flooring is made of special spongy material to reduce the possibility of injuries.  Ariel’s Grotto is wheelchair accessible.
