Port of Entry
The Port of Entry is the first island of the Universal Studios park. This area mostly contains restaurants, shops, and Guest Services. The shops in this area provide for very unique souvenirs, as the entire area is themed like a fictional town comprised of merchants from all over the world. In addition, the buildings on the island are created to represent different places and cultures, such as Timbuktu and Venice.
The 133 foot tall lighthouse found just outside of the entrance is the park’s primary icon. It was modeled after the Pharos Lighthouse found in Alexandria, Egypt, which is one of the seven wonders of the world. There are not many attractions on this island, but the architecture, restaurants, shops, and overall marketplace atmosphere make this island a great place to visit.
