Honey I Shrunk the Audience

One of Epcot’s most popular attractions is Honey I Shrunk the Audience. This 3D movie is shown in the Magic Eye Theatre and has an 8 minute pre-show. The pre-show to the movie sets up the premise of the movie by showing a montage of photographs about imagination, while the song “True Colors” plays.

The feature show takes places inside the Imagination Institute. Here, Professor Wayne Szalinski, from the "Honey I Shrunk the Kids” movie series, is receiving the "Inventor of the Year" award. While here, a series of mishaps take place.

One of the mishaps to occur is the audience being shrunk. Fantastic special effects are utilized to transform this 3D movie to a 4D adventure. Effects such as smoke, fiber optics, moving seats, and lights are all used. Some of these effects can, however, be too intense for children. Adults with a fear of mice might also have problems with the attraction.

Due to the popularity of this attraction, long lines are the norm. Assistive listening devices are available from Guest Services for those who are hearing impaired. In addition, reflective captioning is available for guests who are deaf. It can be requested from a Cast Member at the entrance. Guests who are in ECV’s need to be capable of transferring to a wheelchair in order to enjoy the attraction.
