Disney - FASTPASS
For those of us who do not like to stand in long lines, there is the Disney’s FASTPASS system. It gives the guests more time to explore the parks and enjoy the fun, rather than keep standing still at one place.
How it works:
Every Disney attraction with FASTPASS system has 2 entrances - First the regular entrance, and then the FASTPASS entrance. It also has a FASTPASS distribution turnstile.
There are 2 digital clocks at the entrance, the first of which gives the time delay at the regular entrance, if you choose to stand in line now. The second digital clock indicates the time to return to gain FASTPASS entrance, if you get a FASTPASS ticket now.
To opt for the FASTPASS entrance at the indicated time, you just insert the park admission ticket at the FASTPASS turnstile. It will issue a FASTPASS ticket with the return time (entrance time) indicated on it. A one-hour grace period is allowed from the time indicated in the FASTPASS ticket, in which to gain entrance to the attraction.
How many FASTPASS tickets:
You can get a new FASTPASS ticket every two hours. For example, if you punch your ticket to get FASTPASS admittance at 11 a.m., you can book the next FASTPASS admittance for 1 p.m.
It is very convenient way to avoid lines at more popular attractions on busy days.
You have to remember that everyone who wishes to use the FASTPASS option should get a FASTPASS ticket. The only exceptions are children under 3 years of age, who in any case do not require admission ticket to enter the park.
FASTPASS vs. Regular lines:
Since its introduction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom in July 1999, FASTPASS has become one of the most convenient ways to skip standing in long lines - although standing in lines has its own charm, especially with young children. Some of the best memories of the trip may be during the time you wait in line as it gives an opportunity to soak in the atmosphere and get into the holiday mood.
