Python
Python, which was the second roller coaster to be built at Busch Gardens, features a classic corkscrew inversion. The atmosphere of the yellow and black ride ride is fantastic, as it stands deep inside lush jungle vegetation. At the top of the 70 foot lift hill, guests can also catch a great view of the Congo area. At 50 mph, it takes about 1 minute 10 seconds to complete the 1250 foot long track.
The lines to Python aren’t usually very long because it is not one of the top roller coasters in the park. The best time to get on, however, is when the Congo area first opens because most park guests are still spending their time in the front portions of the park. The front portion of Python provides the smoothest ride and the very front car is more spacious than the other cars. The back car gets more airtime on the first drop, but is a rougher ride. Anyone over 6 feet will have problems with head banging in the back car. Python is a great roller coaster for the first time rider who is afraid of getting on a coaster.
Guests must be 48” tall to ride and shoes must be worn. Guests wearing sandals must remove them and sit on them during the ride. The ride is not recommended for guests who are pregnant, have injuries, or who are elderly.
