Nairobi

Nairobi can be found at the edge of the Serengeti Plain.  This area is filled with animal exhibits, including the main attraction, the off-road Rhino Rally adventure.  It also features elephants, tortoises, and reptiles.  The Backbones of Life exhibit found here displays ancient animal artifacts and Curiosity Caverns provides a look at cave-dwelling animals, such as bats.  The main loading and exiting area of the Serengeti Express Railway, which takes guests on a trip around the park, can also be found here.

A couple shops are located in Nairobi, including J.R.’s Gorilla Hut and Trader Jim’s.  At J.R.’s Gorilla Hut, guests can buy a variety of stuffed animals and other souvenirs related to gorillas and other African animals.  Trader Jim’s features Busch Gardens and Anheuser-Busch Clydesdale apparel and souvenirs.  For a quick snack, guests can stop by Kenya Kanteen.  Here, they can purchase ice cream, cotton candy, drinks, and other snacks.

Since the Rhino Rally is one of the most popular attractions of the entire Busch Gardens theme park, the Nairobi area can be quite busy from early on in the day.  In fact, there is often a line at Rhino Rally before it is even opened for the day.  Therefore, it is often better to hit this area later in the day after exploring the rest of the park.
