DinoLand U.S.A.
Dinoland U.S.A. takes guests on a trip through time as they enter through a 50 foot tall Brachiosaurus skeleton. This skeleton spans as the “OldenGate Bridge.” Dino-Sue, which is the largest and most complete T-Rex ever found, is located inside DinoLand U.S.A. Over 90% over her bones have been found and she is over 40 feet long and 13 feet tall!
To the left of the entrance is “The Boneyard” playground. This area has a variety of creatures for kids to climb and fossils waiting to be unearthed, making it a great place for kids to burn of some built up energy. The musical Xylobone is another great attraction in this area.
Chester and Hester’s Dino-Rama is another must-see. This prehistoric midway comes complete with carnival style ringing bells and flashing lights. Be sure to enjoy the wide variety of games of luck while here. You can also take a ride on the TriceraTop Spin or the Primeval Whirl roller coaster in this area.
Dinosaur provides some intense action for the brave soul. At this attraction, guests first take a tour of the Dino Institute, which is hosted by Bill Nye, the Science Guy. After the tour, guests go on a mission to bring back the iguanodon. While on the mission, guests find themselves strapped into a vehicle as they wildly careen on a crazy ride, dodging dinosaurs and meteors. Pregnant guests, or those with back or neck problems should avoid this attraction.
The Cretaceous Trail, which is located near to Dinosaur, offers a short trail that takes guest on walk back in time. Here, guests can see reproductions of dinosaurs that roamed the Earth during the Cretaceous period.
The fantastic Tarzan Rock! Stage show can also be found in the Theater in the Wild, which is an outdoor theatre containing 1500 seats. This show, which includes Tarzan, Jane and Terk, combines a rock concert atmosphere with acrobatics and inline skaters.
The Restaurantosaurus rec hall and cafeteria provides both lunch and dinner and offers foods such as chicken salad, burgers, hot dogs, and salads. A character breakfast is also offered in the morning and hosted by Donald Duck. Petri-Fries, which offers McDonald’s French fries, can be found here, as well as Dino-Bites and Dino-Diner, which offer ice cream and other snacks.
A wacky souvenir shop can also be found at Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, which is a former gas station.
