The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, located at the end of Sunset Boulevard, stands an imposing 13 stories high. This makes it the tallest theme park attraction in all of Walt Disney World. It is also the fastest thrill ride of any park.
The ride, which opened in 1994, and takes guests on a spooky journey through a deserted Hollywood Hotel. The pre-show tour includes a stop off at the library, where guests view a short film hosted by the creator of the Twilight Zone, Rod Serling. Guests then walk to the boiler room to await a ride in a 1917 caged service elevator, which sends guests on a 13-story drop. The ride was enhanced in 1996 to add a second, then again in 1999 making the number of drops each time a mystery. Pictures are taken of guests when they reach the top of the building as they take their descent. The photo is available for purchase after the ride.


This attraction is both very fun and popular. Therefore, it draws long rides. FastPass is available. All guests must be a minimum of 40 inches to ride and the ride is very dark. Guests who are afraid of the dark, who are afraid of heights, or who suffer from claustrophobia should avoid the ride. Child swap is an option. In addition, pregnant women or guests who suffer from medical problems, such as neck or back problems, should not go on the ride.


The Tower Shops are located at the exit of the attraction. Here, guests can purchase souvenirs from the ride. This is also where the photograph taken during the ride can be purchased.Closed-captioning for deaf guests is available on the pre-show film. Guests in wheelchairs must be able to transfer from the chair in order to enjoy ride. A member of Guest Relations can provide an activator upon request.
