Pharos Lighthouse

Inspired by its namesake in Alexandria, Egypt and one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Pharos Lighthouse is found in the Port of Entry at Universal Studios. The original was built in 350 BC and fell during an earthquake in the 14th century. It was for many years among the tallest man-made structures on Earth, and its purpose was to guide sailors safely into the port of Alexandria.

Every night this real, functional lighthouse casts its beam of golden light, illu-minating the way for visitors coming to and from the park. The 133 foot high structure marks the start of the journey into an unforgettable universe, and stands as the park's primary icon, just outside the entrance.
