Mickey's PhilharMagic

Mickey's PhilharMagic is the most recent attraction to be added to the Magic Kingdom. This amazing show took 3 years to construct, but was well worth the effort, as it brings all things Disney to life!

The technology used to create this 12-minute show is truly outstanding. Smells, sights, and sounds are all used to help bring it to life. In addition, the theater, which seats 486 guests, employs the use of the largest seamless movie screen in the world (150 feet long by 28 feet high). Computer Generated Images, combined with the use of 3-D glasses, come together to create the realism. The gold proscenium stage is decorated with a number of musical instruments.

The story of the show depicts Donald Duck trying to steal the show from Mickey. The ensuing antics are humorous and highly enjoyable to watch. For example, as Mickey pursues Donald, Donald is swept away by brooms as a tribute to Fantasia. Lumier from Beauty and the Beast asks him to 'be our guest' and he visits Ariel beneath the sea, as she sings about wanting to be 'Part of that world.' Donald also takes a magic carpet ride with Aladdin and Jasmine as the explore a 'Whole New World' and he flies over London with Tinker Bell and Peter Pan as they show him how Simba 'Just can't wait to be King.'  Other beloved Disney characters, such as Flounder and Iago also appear in the show.

There are two sets of door in the waiting area. The doors on the right lead to the back of the theater, while the doors to the left go to the front. The best place to see the show is in the first five rows. The Fast Pass is offered for Mickey's PhilharMagic, and it is a good idea to get one, as this attraction is understandably quite popular. It is wheelchair accessible and has space for ten wheelchairs.
