Florida is obviously well known for alligators and at Gatorland you can get up close and personal with them in safety! As well as alligators (even white ones) you will find crocodiles and a petting zoo.
If you want a bit more of an adrenaline rush there's a Gator Zip line which will take you flying high across the park - right above the giant alligators and crocs watching you from the ground (see video on right)! There are shows that give you a chance to get up close and personal with Florida's wildlife (including snakes) or you and your family might enjoy watching some 'gator wrestling (where a trained expert grabs hold of one of these 8 feet monsters by hand!).
Gatorland's night time show 'Night shine' takes visitors out with just a torch across the wooden walkways for a more frightening (but perfectly safe) stroll in the dark.
The park is open daily from 10:00 to 17:00 and parking is FREE. Children under 3 years of age can also visit for FREE, strollers/pushchairs can be hired on site for $7 (single) or $12 (double). Wheelchairs are also available for hire from $10. Adult (13 years+) day passes are priced at $26.99 and children aged 3-12 years will cost $18.99 (all as at Jan 2014).
(Another option for Alligator watching is a trip across the Florida Everglades with Boggy Creek Airboat Rides.)
