Boggy Creek Airboat Rides

Still looking for things to do in Orlando? Well how about something different... if you're old enough to remember the children's classic TV show Gentle Ben (made in 1967 but still playing into the 80s in the UK) the show was filmed on location in the Florida Everglades region. With Boggy Creek Airboat Rides you don’t have to travel far from the main Orlando attractions in order to take your very own airboat ride across the Everglades just like the main characters did in the Gentle Ben intro (see bottom right video).

As well as the stunning scenery and unusual mode of transport you might experience a range of wildlife including herons, buzzards, turtles or even witness the odd alligator or two! Since the company began in 1994 over one million passengers have entered the Everglades on an airboat to explore the Florida Wetlands – a testimony to the success of the company and the enjoyment offered to visitors.

Boggy Creek Airboat rides are based in two separate locations (Southport and East Lake – both in Orlando) and well equipped with a range of air boats including eight 17-passenger airboats and four 6-passenger private airboats. There are daily 30 minute tours, one hour night tours, private airboat tours, fishing options and a restaurant.

Worried about safety? Well don’t - with Boggy Creek Airboat rides all boats are insured and regularly inspected & certified by the U.S. Coast Guard, they also receive daily maintenance & safety inspections AND have life vests, safety equipment, hearing protection & radios aboard. What are you waiting for – find out more and add this to your Orlando itinerary!

(If Alligators are really your thing, you might also consider a trip to Gatorland to get up close and personal!)
