Ye haw!! Boots, chaps and cowboy hats…. nothing else matters in Frontierland. You may find you take to the life of a cowboy, like a horse takes to oats at the Disney World Wild West extravagance. Themed on the 19th century American era of pioneers, cowboy saloons and gold rushes, the sounds of banjo music and smell of turkey legs cooking give an all-round authentic sensory experience, as characters in denim and gingham say "Howdy, stranger."
Get ready for an old-fashioned shoot out with the new Frontierland Shootin' Arcade, take a trip on the runaway trains of the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and relax with some food and drink at the Diamond Horseshoe. But never slap a man who is chewing tobacco. Or squat with your spurs on.
Frontierland has many opportunities to satisfy even a cowboy's appetite. The Pecos Bill Café serves hearty redneck fare for a fistful of dollars, such as smoked turkey legs, hot dogs, barbecue pork sandwiches and salad, with both indoor and outdoor seating. Check out the golden stucco interior, heavy chandeliers, and animal heads too! For more Mexican tastes, head to the Tortuga Tavern (formerly El Pirata y Perico), nearby in Adventureland, which serves tacos and salads, burritos and nachos.
