Inspired by the cities of San Francisco and New York, Streets of America is built using forced perspective, and the buildings are just facades. But here you'll spot a London street or two, and even a street from Chinatown. You'll find it if you turn right at the end of Commissary Lane, and you'll get a real feel of what it feels like on the set of a film or TV show. The sound effects of busy streets are a nice touch, too.
The Streets of America features three main attractions: Studio Backlot Tour, which features the American Film Institute Showcase – a rotating collage of movie props and memorabilia and a tram ride through Catastrophe Canyon, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground, and the Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show. is a behind-the-scenes look at how vehicle action sequences are made for film.
The Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground is a great place for kids to have fun. With giant mushrooms, 30 foot high blades of grass and 40 foot high bumblebees, sense of proportions really will be skewed for a while! There's the chance to meet and greet the Power Rangers, and Lightening McQueen and Tow Mater from Cars too.
